Dynamic Duo: HPE ProLiant Servers + Windows Server 2016 Essentials
Last week we kicked off a new blog series all about Windows Server 2016 + HPE ProLiant Gen10 Server pairings by looking at the different version of Windows Server 2016: Essentials, Standard, and Datacenter. Today, we will tell you about a few of the great HPE ProLiant Servers we recommend pairing with Windows Server 2016 Essentials.
First, letโs start with a quick review of Essentials. Windows Server 2016 Essentials is a great option for SMBs with basic IT needs, supports up to 25 users or 50 devices, and does not require CALs. Essentials offers one physical or one virtual instance and supports servers with one or two processors.
Now to the serversโฆ There are several HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers that would pair well with Windows Server 2016 Essentials but today we will focus on just 4 ideal matches: HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10, HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10, HPE ProLiant ML110, Gen10, and HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10.
HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10
For your customers who need an affordable compact entry level server specifically designed for small offices, home offices, or small business environments, the HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Server is a great option! With its compact size, and quietness, this server can be placed almost anywhere and features simple access to hard drives, memory, and PCIe slots allowing for easy management, installation, and upgrades.
HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10
If you have customers whose IT needs are growing, we've got another great option for them. The HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 is a powerful yet affordable tower server designed for small offices, remote and branch offices to run on-premise and Hybrid Cloud solutions, delivering enterprise-class performance, security, reliability, and expandability at a lower cost. The ML30 Gen10 server offers flexibility in different storage needs with the choice of four Large Form Factor (LFF) non-hot-plug, hot-plug, or eight Small Form Factor (SFF) hot-plug drive options, your customers can find the right storage fit for their growing businesses.
HPE ProLiant ML110 Gen10
Customers searching for a tower server with exceptional value to meet the requirements of their small-to-midsized businesses will find an ideal match with the HPE ProLiant ML110 Gen10. The ML110 Gen10 server is a single processor tower form factor that can also be placed in a rack server cabinet using 4.5U of rack space and includes up to five PCIe slots with room to grow with eight large form factor (LFF) or 16 small form factor (SFF) disk drives.
HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10
When a customer has telephonic equipment, they may want a true rack option. In this case, the HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 server would be our recommendation. This compact 1U server works in a variety of environments and provides a unique blend of enterprise-class capabilities at a great value, making it an ideal rack server platform for growing businesses. The DL20 offers outstanding configuration flexibility to cater to a wide variety of business requirements at an affordable price point.
