How to deploy a virtual environment with Microsoft Hyper-V [Adventures in SMB Video]

Managing small and midsize business (SMB) IT usually comes with many unique challenges not faced by larger businesses. Because SMBs typically lack the resources larger businesses may have, they are often trying to do more with less and have to make the most of everything. If you are working with SMBs who haven't virtualized yet, they may be leaving time and money on the table.

When talking to your SMB customers about server virtualization, it is important to make sure they understand what virtualization is, and how it can help their business. Server virtualization is a software architecture that allows more than one server operating system (OS) to run as a guest on a given physical server host. Virtualization lets organizations (of all shapes and sizes) allocate resources to applications as needed, so multiple applications can run on a single server. That means more applications can run on the servers the organization has, helping them do more with less, while still managing the increasing number of workloads relied on to run the business.

In this week's Adventures in SMB video, Adventure Guide Avery meets with Veteran MSP Huy Tran to learn even more about virtualization and the steps for developing and deploying a virtual network inside of a small to medium sized business. Join along as Huy teaches how to set up the Hyper-V role and start the first Virtual Machine, and shows a sample setup he uses for clients with 10-25 users running Windows Server 2016 on a HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10.
